Spell & The Gyspy Collective
Possibly the most epic shoot I’ve ever done. Most magical sunrises & sunsets… a full moon eclipse… a moon that glowed red… beach campfires …epic onshore winds… two days of car, airplane, bus & boat travelling to get to our Island…. Working with Angels… & horses… coconuts… hammocks…. bamboo huts… bamboo rafts…
Was an amazing team, so blessed to work with such talented souls, big thanks to Michaela Macdonnell who brought the shoot together logistically and spiritually! And to Spelly for her amazing set design and styling!!
ZIPPY’S HAIR:
With Zippy’s makeup in the amazing hands of Rosario (mwah!) I took on the job of hair design… & our angel Zippy… was transformed into a Castaway Boho Mermaid!…
I began by prepping a heap of uncurled/untonged blonde and belyaged extensions from Medussa Hair Extensions – with Kevin Murphy RESORT.SPRAY to give the hair texture. I then twisted clumps of hair and backcombed each clump, and massaged some INSTANT ROCKSTAR classic wax to form Zippy’s beachy dread locks. I matted the hair down with some Kevin Murphy POWDER.PUFF to give it more texture and a matt finish.
I don’t think anyone could ask for anything more… this shoot… deserted island boho heaven!! …when i first viewed the final edits… i burst out crying! To see it all come together so beautifully, was overwhelming! Johnny Abegg – what a dam fine photographer!! Welldone Lizzy and Spelly! So so proud of you all. xxxx
